

Types of Dance and Movement Programmes
· Weekly dance classes within a residential or day centre setting (every two weeks is also an option) an hour is recommend.
· Weekly Community Dance Classes suitable for those who are able to copy movements ending possibly with a sharing or performance.
· One off or series of workshops these can vary in length from an hour to three hours.
· Holiday workshops/projects in the community (Dance For Camera Projects/Art and Dance Sessions/Topic or Themed based etc).
· A sensory movement based programme for those with complex needs.
Sessions are devised to meet the needs of the group; this may be more sensory movement based, seated movement activities or more physical dance involving moving around the space.
The content of the sessions can link to participant’s activities, explore a particular theme or subject, dance style or use creative devices as mentioned above.
Structure of Sessions
Every session will consist of: Warm up, followed by the various activities to explore movement and make dances if participants wish, and a cool down.
Best Foot Forward aims to make all activities to meet individual learning needs and will use various teaching methods to support them some of which include makaton, symbols, pictures and other communication prompt boards.
Parents/Carers/staff will be required within classes, and encouraged to join in to help support participants (guidelines for supporting staff are provided).
A new theme is explore for 6 to 8 weeks and then a new theme is introduced.

Bookings
Cost varies depending on what you require, group classes start from £25.
One off workshops start from £30.
1-1 classes are also available, £15 for 45mins and £10 for 30mins.
